Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God\\Shawn Acree

1 Corinthians 10:31 says: …whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.

The other day I woke up in a blah mood.  I didn’t spend time with God that morning.  It seemed like I stayed in that blah mood all day.  I did not bring glory to God.  I missed opportunities to show God’s love.  It was my choice and I made the wrong choice.  The next day, I got up and what do you think – I had the opportunity to have another blah day.  But this time, I did as I do most mornings and began my day with “Lord, this is the day you have made, I will rejoice and be glad in it”.  I spent time with Him.  I chose to bring God glory and there were opportunities that I didn’t miss that day to bring glory to God.

I have been pondering lately on what my real purpose in life is.  And I keep coming to the same answer.  I was created to commune with God and share His love with others.  No matter where I am in life-starting a family, raising children, working, retiring- I am to spend time with Him so that I can go out and share His love with whoever He causes to cross my path.  Sharing His love can be shown in so many ways – holding the door for a mom struggling with a stroller, smiling at the clerk at the checkout counter, even when they are not having a good day, buying a meal for a stranger, giving a hug to someone, putting a $5 bill in someone’s hand, making soup for a sick neighbor, and the list goes on.

We never know how an act of kindness affects the person receiving it.  God knows all our needs and that could be just what they needed.  I believe God puts us in their path to be His hands, His face, His arms.  We don’t know what people are going thru, even if they seem like they have it all together.  We have to be willing and ready to hear when God speaks to us to do something, even if it seems like a small thing that wouldn’t really matter.  It could be just the act that brings someone closer to Him. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says: …whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.  We have to do everything, whether small or great for the glory of God.   Yes, we have jobs we do, families to take care of, soccer games to attend, etc., but what great opportunities there are in each one of those places to bring glory to God.
